Danny Ramirez, is an ordinary man with an extraordinary fire within, for the diverse sound of House Music! Northern CA’s mid-90’s burgeoning House/Techno/Rave era gave birth to the explosive Rebel Club Scene whereby “Dan the Man” as he is still called by friends and party goers, was either representing Sacramento’s largest party K.R.U, battling others on the dancefloor, on the streets, or learning the ropes as a DJ while spinning at their massive underground warehouse parties. Taking inspiration from his brothers in arms, DJ Ernan, Joe Mac and Passion, and watching their hundreds of events explode with a young Richard Vission, David Garcia, or the like as headliners, music consumed much of his thought and direction.

By the late 90’s, Danny began mixing newly pressed underground white labels from the likes of Miguel Migs and Crazy P with seasoned tracks from the likes of Masters at Work and Salsoul Records, shaping a soulful, latin, disco, jazzy sound that earned him a residency from Danny Torza at Sacramento’s renowned Harlow’s Nightclub and Momo Lounge and Cigar Bar. Spinning for countless exclusive events and after parties for international acts like the Deftones, or Sacramento Kings. He describes one of his most memorable as the night May 6, 2001, when he was privileged to open on the main stage mixing it up right before Prince’s appearance. Danny was brought on as resident DJ by legendary nightclub promoter and owner Ernesto Torres to join forces with ENJ events and thus an era of legendary parties were brought forth on the Sacramento scene from the days of RHYTHM at 815 L Street, house music on the upper level, or the plethora of parties from the SF Bay to Sacramento. DJing has taken Danny to Las Vegas, Santa Monica (LA), San Francisco, with the hopes of traveling overseas later this year.

The party never stops and the rhythm of House Music continues to flow. Armed with a small home studio, Danny produces music that is soulful and uplifting, and sometimes dark, decadent, and atmospheric. Proficient in Protools, Logic, Reason, and Ableton Live, Danny spends much of his available time creating soundtracks for clients in film and radio, remixing and creating original dance music, and teaching others the art of electronic music production.

Hence, SACRED GROOVES, is the newly formed Sound Company and Label Imprint by which he drives with humble confidence into 2024. While currently mixing for the likes of Forbes Global Properties, creating soundtracks for top tier Fashion events in Southern CA, or Djing for a friend’s small birthday party event, the turntables continue to rotate in the direction of soul, life, and positivity.  

Ahead of schedule,  Danny’s first release this December 29th, 2023, “Get up…I need your love,” is a soulful, bassline driven house track punctuated by vocal echoes, a funky saxophone and guitar played over a bed of percussive elements and grooves. Danny hopes to make music that is culturally diverse, with elements that lift the soul and heal the heart. Every move he makes is dedicated to honoring his Creator, family, true friends and the music that has given him so much. Keep the needle on the record!
